Antigone defies her uncle’s orders, and is punished despite her engagement  to Creon’s son Haemon. She is sealed in a tomb as a death sentence. After the oracle Tiresias warns Creon of the consequences, he repents. Unfortunately, Antigone has already killed herself and is followed in death by Creon’s son and wife, both of whom commit suicide. Creon’s isolation is complete and he ends the play a broken and lonely man.
