Desire to Evolve

by Jonathan Kipp Becker

When we are young we want to be older.  When we are older we try to recapture the innocence and energy of our youth. Life seems to be a journey of planning seeds, cultivating them, watching them grow and then blossom.  Then we reach the end and for a moment we see the whole journey from above.

This piece of sculpture is made with gypsum plaster, resins and hardeners, bronze infused acrylic, patina spray and black shoe polish and glass.

A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they will never sit in.”
