Description
The Hornbill Bird Mask was created as the companion piece to the Meercat mask for a client that was playing with masks instead of puppets for the story of the Lion King. Images of this mask have also been used on holiday cards for the studio because Hornbills in Santa hats are hilarious.
The Hornbill is a bird found in subtropical Africa. They form monogamous pairs and nest in either nests built or in abandoned nests of woodpeckers. They feed off of fruits as well as insects. These majestic birds are distinguished by their colorful beaks.
This bird mask is a wonderful example of expressive form and personality traits that come to life as the mask is played.
